Doing Business (Not) As Usual: Contemporary Conceptual and Practical Issues of Economic Diplomacy
Associate Professor Mira Kaneva will deliver a lecture on 8 May 2026 in the European and International Business Law LL.M. program titled „Doing Business (Not) As Usual: Contemporary Conceptual and Practical Issues of Economic Diplomacy”.
This will be the third time she is lecturing in the program. Mira Kaneva is an Associate Professor at the Department of International Law and International Relations at the Faculty of Law of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". She holds a PhD in International Law and International Relations and teaches at undergraduate, MA, and PhD levels. Her courses include Theories of International Relations, Theory of International Negotiations, Power in Modern International Relations (EN), Multi-track diplomacy in the Geopolitics of the 21 century (EN), International and Global Affairs (EN), International Security Studies, Human Security, Multilateral Diplomacy, International NGOs and club diplomacy, as well as International Studies for PhD students (theory and methodology).
Her academic research focuses on diplomacy and negotiation studies, global governance, the international politics of human rights, geopolitics and power. She also works on border studies, including migration, modern territoriality, and post-Westphalian sovereignty, as well as human security, the role of small states, regional cooperation, and EU integration. She is the author of several publications and a regular lecturer at international and Bulgarian conferences. She is senior researcher at Sofia Security Forum.
Mira Kaneva has particular interests in global ethics and game theory.
